Court Approves $7.5 Million Settlement for IBM’s Wage and Hour Violations

Technical support workers were improperly classified as exempt from overtime

March 12, 2010 -- The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York granted final approval to a $7.5 Million, plus interest, settlement for technical support workers of IBM nationwide. These employees were improperly classified as exempt from overtime, then re-classified as non-exempt from overtime, but not paid back wages for the period they were misclassified.
