Fatima is a Foundation for Advocacy Inclusion and Resources (FAIR) Fellow at Altshuler Berzon LLP.  Under the FAIR fellowship, new attorneys work for six months at Legal Aid at Work and six months at a law practice affiliated with the California Employment Lawyers Association. In law school, Fatima served as a Max Berger Public Interest/Public Service Fellow and participated as a student attorney in the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic. She was also a Managing Editor on the Columbia Law Review, which published her note, Laboring After Labor; Applying USERRA’s Just Cause Protection to Pregnant and Postpartum Workers. Columbia awarded Fatima the Pauline Berman Heller Prize for outstanding academic achievement in the service of gender equality and the Valentin J.T. Wertheimer Prize in Labor Law.
