Zoe’s practice consists primarily of representing local and international labor unions in federal and state court litigation, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and advice matters.  Since 2019, Zoe has served as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the California Lawyers Association (formerly the State Bar of California).

She previously worked at Bredhoff & Kaiser, PLLC in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in labor law, ERISA, and bankruptcy.

Before becoming a lawyer, Zoe was a public school teacher in the Bronx, NY. In her spare time, Zoe enjoys cooking, hiking, and chasing after her two children.

Representative matters:

  • Defending state prevailing wage laws against constitutional challenges in multiple lawsuits.
  • Negotiating collective bargaining agreements on behalf of labor unions in the manufacturing industry and major league sports.

  • Lead counsel in numerous labor arbitrations in contract interpretation and employee discipline matters.  Represented local unions in many unfair labor practice cases before the National Labor Relations Board.

  • With Stephen Berzon, negotiated a multi-million dollar wage settlement on behalf of hundreds of teachers.
  • Petitioning California’s Occupational Health and Safety Standards Board for adoption of a health and safety standard for industrial painting in the construction industry.
  • Along with other Altshuler Berzon LLP counsel, challenging two state right to work laws as unconstitutional.
  • Member of litigation team that successfully defended an arbitrator’s award in favor of a labor union in federal court.
