Altshuler Berzon LLP has hired for the current year’s fellowship. On September 5, 2023, Altshuler Berzon LLP will begin accepting applications from 3Ls and recent law school graduates interested in becoming a 2024-25 Altshuler Berzon LLP Law Fellow.
Fellows work closely with the firm’s attorneys on a variety of matters representing labor unions, workers, environmental groups, consumers, and governmental entities. They participate as full members of our legal teams and have significant responsibilities for our cases, as well as opportunities for professional development. This Law Fellow Program is in addition to the firm’s Environmental Fellowship that is run jointly with NRDC.
About Us. Altshuler Berzon LLP is a San Francisco law firm dedicated to providing the highest quality representation in the service of economic justice and the public interest. The firm has earned a nationwide reputation for excellence. Our clients and colleagues in other firms often turn to us to handle groundbreaking litigation involving issues of first impression, particularly cases raising important constitutional and public policy issues. We specialize in labor and employment, constitutional, environmental, civil rights, class action, campaign and election, and impact litigation, at both the trial and appellate levels. We represent clients before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitrators. We also provide advice and counseling, legislative drafting, representation in collective bargaining and negotiation, and other forms of legal assistance.
Qualifications. Applications will be accepted from 3Ls and recent graduates. Candidates should possess outstanding writing ability, analytical skills, and academic records, and should have a demonstrated interest in public interest law practice. The Fellowship best suits candidates who have a “gap year” between other commitments (such as between graduation and clerkship or other fellowship) but is open to all candidates.
The firm is committed to diversity and encourages applications from persons of color, persons identifying as LBGTQ, and persons with disabilities.
Salary Range. The salary range for this fellow position is between $97,000 and $102,000 annually, depending on experience.
Applications. Applicants should email a cover letter, resume, two writing samples, law school transcript, and list of references to Michael Rubin at mrubin@altber.com. The firm will consider applications for the fall of 2024 on a rolling basis, beginning on September 5, 2023.
