Supreme Court Denies Another Cert Petition Challenging Public Employee Collective Bargaining

The U.S. Supreme Court denied review today of another lawsuit claiming that public employee collective bargaining is unconstitutional.  The plaintiffs in the case, Goldstein v. Professional Staff Congress/CUNY, asked the Supreme Court to hold that the use of an exclusive representative collective bargaining system violates the First Amendment rights of bargaining unit workers, even if the workers are not required to join or support a majority-chosen union.  Altshuler Berzon LLP represented the Professional Staff Congress in successfully opposing review.
